Psychotherapy

If you live in Maryland and would like to work with me, I provide psychotherapy virtually for individuals (ages 12 and up) and couples.

Life can be challenging and leave us feeling overwhelmed. Maybe an important relationship just ended (or needs to end) and you are limping through life. Or maybe you lost your job, your health, or your sense of direction in life, leaving you feeling anxious, unsafe, and lacking control. When you go through difficulties, it’s important to have a safe space to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment or shame. You need someone who believes that healing and growth are possible for everyone—no matter what they’ve been through—and who has the tools and training to help you get back to a place of wholeness.

My priority is to help you heal, transform through adversity, and create a life you love living. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a holistic approach that honors the connection between your mind, body, and spirit. I have a strong passion and unique skill set to help people heal from toxic and narcissistic relationships and experience lasting freedom.

My clinical orientation is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. That means we look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behavior are all interconnected and we work toward changing unhelpful thoughts and behavior, so that you can feel better. I am also certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy to treat PTSD. And, I have expertise in integrating spirituality and religion into treatment, if that is an approach that you would like us to use in our work together.

I am passionate about helping you achieve your goals and live a balanced, joyful life.  We can work together to improve your mood and energy, up-level your relationships, reduce stress, resolve trauma, effectively manage anxiety, depression, and life adjustments, address spiritual/existential issues, better cope with illness, improve sleep, lose weight, reduce compulsive eating, and improve overall quality of life. I also help people heal and recover from toxic and narcissistic relationships and make the journey back to choosing themselves.

Having spent over two decades helping people heal and make positive changes in their lives, I'd be honored to support you in your journey.

If you’re ready to have the thriving life you desire and deserve, please contact me for a free 15-minute consultation. Together, we'll find the best way for you to create a life you love living.

  • Psychotherapy appointments are 50 minutes in length.

  • All sessions are conducted virtually at this time.

  • To see if we are a good fit for psychotherapy, please reach out for a free 15-minute consultation.

  • You will then complete intake paperwork before our first session on the patient portal.

*Please note that given my psychotherapy practice is small, I typically have a wait list for therapy sessions. If you’re interested in working with me immediately, coaching might be a great option for you! Reach out to me and let’s chat about what the best option is for you. And have a look at this article I wrote that explains the similarities and differences between therapy and coaching.

Supervision

I am licensed by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists in Maryland to supervise psychology trainees, interns, post docs, and master’s level therapists. I am also an approved as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor supervisor and can supervise licensed graduate professional counselors (LGPC).

Please contact me if you are interested in working with me in a supervisory role.

Individual Consultation in Christian CBT

If you are a mental health provider who is interested in learning how to implement Christian CBT in your clinical practice, I would be happy to consult with you. Consultation differs from supervision in that you remain legally and ethically responsible for your clients. My consultation is based on the empirical work on Christian CBT that I published in the book Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Christians with Depression: A Tool-Based Primer. Please contact me if you’d like to work with me as a consultant.
